Our First Music Video

|
Hi guys! I'm back from a month-long hiatus and i have great stuff to post for y'all. The past weeks, we made a music video for our assignment in ITMM105. The song we used is "Spotlight" by Jennifer Hudson. We used Sony Vegas to splice the stuff out, add the fade-in and outs and sync the music to the video. It turned out really great.

Hartman-style Experimenting : Katie White of The Ting Tings!

|

Did this last night. It's Katie White of the Ting Tings. Drew it in Adobe Illustrator. Took 2 hours to make. I did this immediately after i saw the "Shut Up and Let me Go" music video. I am a big ing Tings fan and a fan of the Butch Hartman-style animation so I got into experimenting the style. She's really pretty!

Viva la Fairies! FOP fan art...

|

Showing the bit of joy i get from the Fairly OddParents! With Timmy constantly influencing and changing reality with his wacky and crazed wishes, I had to express this into my scribbling... I was also inspired by the initial "Viva la Vida" music video by Coldplay.A work derived from Coldplay's initial music video for their song "Viva la Vida". It's also a tribute to Timmy Turner and maybe a Fairly OddParents! fanart. I like it and sometimes i feel like Timmy Turner. Seems like he reminds me of my childhood. Go Timmy! be happy with your life! Shine! :)

Fairly OddParents!

|
Fairly OddParents revolves around a 10 year old boy named Timmy Turner who is one of the few lucky kids to have Fairy Godparents. Timmy is misunderstood all the time and has real parents that seem to care but, unknowingly, leaves him all alone most of the time with either his Grandpa or Vicky, the evil babysitter.Luckily for Timmy, his fairy godparents are there to comfort him and grant him anything he wishes, even though they are risky and have consequences.

I love the show because of it's silly pop culture references, and it's complicated humor. In addition to that, I also love Butch Hartman's style of animation and drawing. Hartman also produced Dexter's Laboratory for Cartoon Network. His style is simple and abstract but emphasizes on the characters features. The voice-over work is really good along with the storylines. Here are the character bios:

Timmy Turner:

The son of Mr and Mrs. Turner. His parents made the mistake of buying pink acessories and clothing for him with the hopes that their baby would be a girl so it's no wonder that he always wears pink. His buck tooth came about the negligence of his grandpa forgetting to remove the pacifier, as cautioned by Timmy's parents, when he was a baby. Timmy is also smart but has a short attention span. His wishes mostly tend to change reality, but he quickly lerns from the mistakes he had made.

Meet The Godparents:

Cosmo:

Timmy's godfather. Goofy, highly idiotic and "knowledge intolerant", Cosmo is also kind-hearted and loving individual. He has the attitude of a young Shawn Michaels, and an IQ of that compared to Mr. Bean, only worse. It's only that he can express himself and his ideas with the ambiguity of which is literal or figurative. He is taske to grant the wishes of Timmy, but he comes up with the most stupid, even worst ideas. He has been married to Wanda for ten thousand years and I wonder how Wanda puts up with her relationship with him but at least for Cosmo, "she married the smart one". This is how it goes in their relationship, Cosmo makes the mess, Wanda fixes 'em. He has some enemies in a few places but the first enemy he gained was Jorgen von Strangle. In his stay at the Fairy Academy, Cosmo was under the tutelage of Jorgen. He cost Jorgen his 5-star general status due to his overall stupidity. It was advised that Cosmo was to be limited contact and stay in Fairy world because of his stupidity much to the hapiness of his godchild and Wanda and the folks of Fairy World. As far as I know, Cosmo has only one known relative, his mother Mama Cosma. It's his idiotic nature that is the center of all the jokes and comedy on the show. This is a big plus in that his godchild and Wanda delight in his mishaps.

Wanda:

The sane one in the relationship, Wanda takes her duties as a fairy godmother seriously. She knows when to stop goofing off and takes care of business. I believe that her high patience level is a plus when dealing with her husband's crazy ideas and negligent attitude alongside the wacky wishes and schemes of Timmy, her godchild. The reason she married Cosmo was that...he is cute. She married Cosmo after Cosmo ran away from his mom with the excuse to his mom that he'll "go out to buy milk". Wanda is very concerned about the wishes Timmy makes and advises him in situation that may have grave consequences if a wish was made to alter or change them.

Sci-tech Month Contest Entry

|

Title: "Make Science and Technology Work for the World"
Did it with: Photoshop, Illustrator
Time taken: 18 hours.

It all started three days before the deadline of this contest. I did'nt have any ideas on the design of my entry. I initially started with this image...

...but then, I started tinkering with Illustrator. At that time, I realized that I can easilly draw Japanese-style in Illustrator than with a pen and paper. So, i began to consult anime drawing tutorials on the web to use as a guide for drawing the characters in illustrator.I never thought I would complete the students drawing in just two days! I mainly used blend options in this work. I take this up as my signature technique in Photoshop, Blending Options. I feel that the final piece has been rushed but it came out okay. I failed to add more detail in the hair and the wardrobe. It is evident that I should practice drawing the face in diffrent angles. It still needs improvement.

The meaning in this piece is that we should make science and technology work for the world, not only for ourselves. Think about it! Ever since the advent of the Industrial Revolution, and the rise and expansion of human knowledge and understanding, we have made science always work for ourselves and not stop and think of the consequences that we are in today! How selfish has the human race been! It is the mistake of our now ancestors that will be our undoing. I believe we should turn science into an advantage for nature, that nature can benefit form science and technology and also undo most of the damages that we inflicted upon it in the last hundred years.
The two youthful and well-rounded characters depics our generation, equiped with the knowledge, which is the clothing patterns, that will be able to find solutions to the Earth's problems, which is depicted as them supporting the world with their hands.

Let's make science work not only for ourselves but for the Earth too! And to be responsible is to save the world.
